On June 27, 2009, Pronger along with forward Ryan Dingle was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Joffrey Lupul (earlier traded to Edmonton for Pronger in 2006), defenseman Luca Sbisa, two first-round draft picks and a conditional third-round draft pick. Ten days later, Pronger signed a seven-year contract extension.

Chris Pronger, who already had won a Stanley Cup with Anaheim, helped the Flyers in 2010 get to the Stanley Cup with 18 points in 23 games- a strong performance that sadly ended with a Patrick Kane goal for the Blackhawks and a Stanley Cup parade in Chicago. He was a true leader on the ice and a strong physical player. He stood 6''6 and he used every inch of it to his advantage. An incredible force he was on the ice and very skilled.
Chris Pronger played 3 seasons with the Flyers out of the 7 years that his contract was for. Getting Pronger later in his career played an impact and the concussions sustained just was something that he couldn't come back from. Although he didn't play, he stayed on as a scout and would interview potential draftees. Chris Pronger's time wasn't long here, but it was very impactful. Shows what kind of player he was.
