MAJOR: NHL Coach and Player Receive Major Fine and Player Suspension by The NHL

The NHL has made a decision in regard to Ottawa Senators' forward Brady Tkachuk, and it involves a one-game suspension. Tkachuk's penalty stems from an instigator call during the last 5 minutes of a recent game.

Additionally, head coach DJ Smith has been slapped with a hefty $10,000 fine. The team, however, has plans to appeal the instigator penalty, as reported by Ottawa Senators' correspondent Bruce Garrioch.
Despite acknowledging the rule, Coach Smith believes that the situation shouldn't have led to these penalties.
Per NHL rule 46.21, Brady Tkachuk is set to be suspended for 1 game for receiving an instigator penalty in the last 5 minutes of regulation, while Head Coach DJ Smith would receive a $10,000 fine.
