After winning Game 6 in overtime Friday against the Washington Capitals, the Florida Panthers were patiently waiting for either of the Maple Leafs or the Lightning to join them in the second round.
As you know, the Lightning won Game 7. We will have a battle of Florida!
Let's go back to Game 6 between the Caps and the Cats. Once again, Claude Giroux was maybe the biggest reason - with Carter Verhaege - why the Panthers won. He registered 3 points, as he scored the game tying goal in the third period, and had the primary assist on Verhaege's goal in overtime.
For those who said that Giroux wasn't clutch, you have your answer now. When you surround Giroux with good players, good things will happen. Unfortunately, the Flyers were unable to do so during Giroux's long stint in Philadelphia...
