Well, Oilers fans are absolutely fuming.

At this moment of the year, the margin for error is extremely thin. And when the referees get involved and have an immediate impact on the final result of a game, you know that there's going to be a lot of talks.
And that's what happened last night in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals between the Edmonton Oilers and the Colorado Avalanche. In the dying seconds of the first period, the Oilers tied the game at 2. But moments after, Cale Makar scored for Colorado for his team to regain the lead.
So, what's the problem? Basically, the defenseman clearly looked offside at first when he entered the offensive zone. But when you take a close look at it, Makar never had the possession of the puck when he passed the blue line. He self-passed the puck to himself, which gave Valeri Nichuskin time to be onside.
