Former Flyer Max Willman Faces Setback After Devils Deal

Former Philadelphia Flyers forward Max Willman's career seems to have hit a rough patch following his off-season deal with the New Jersey Devils. Despite securing a contract with the Devils, recent developments suggest that Willman hasn't quite solidified his place, as he finds himself demoted to the AHL.
After signing with the Devils during the off-season, Willman's journey took an unexpected turn as he was sent down to Utica, the AHL affiliate. This move leaves the Devils without a 13th forward (or 12th, considering Smith as a defenseman) on the active roster.
In light of this, the Devils have called up Pascal Laberge to join the main squad. Laberge, who is yet to make his NHL debut, steps in to fill the void left by Willman's demotion.

This turn of events underscores the unpredictable nature of professional hockey careers. Willman, who likely had high hopes after signing with the Devils, now faces the challenge of proving himself in the AHL before earning another shot at the NHL level.
As the hockey community bids farewell to Sam Smith, who moves on to new opportunities, the spotlight remains on Max Willman and his journey to regain momentum in a career that has faced an unexpected dip after what appeared to be a promising off-season deal with the New Jersey Devils.
