The anticipation surrounding Gauthier's potential inclusion in the Flyers' lineup is on the rise, with hopes that he will be ready to play for the team next season.
The promising prospect was drafted by the Flyers in the 2022 Entry Draft, selected in the first round as the 5th overall pick. He was touted as a goal scorer and a pure point-getter, qualities that the Flyers were lacking.
Standing at an imposing 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 190 pounds, Gauthier chose to remain with his college team, the Boston College Eagles, for the current season. Many believed that this decision aligned with the Flyers' ongoing rebuilding phase, allowing him to continue his studies and hone his skills.
In a recent game against UConn, the Eagles faced an exhilarating finish. While trailing 4-3 with 13:44 left in the third period, the Eagles were on a power play. In the dying seconds, Gauthier scored a spectacular goal against Huskies goalie Ethan Haider, levelling the score at 4-4.

Gauthier's heroics didn't end there. As the Eagles and Huskies headed into overtime, Cutter managed to net the game-winner. Following a near-victory attempt by Eagles forward Oskar Jellvik with a backhand shot that narrowly missed the net, a clearing attempt by the Huskies defenseman placed the puck just behind Haider.
Gauthier, positioned beside the net, capitalized on the opportunity to secure the win.
In the current season, Gauthier has played 11 games for the Eagles, tallying an impressive 10 goals and 4 assists for a total of 14 points. Additionally, he boasts a +2 rating and has scored six power-play goals.
