Over the last three to four days, the NHL All-Star weekend received a ton of attention on social media, but not for the proper reasons. There wasn't much to look forward to, and home viewers were forced to endure a snooze-fest as the only hockey on TV. Fans were disgruntled since the event appeared to be highly unorganized and chaotic.
"Baby Ovechkin" was one thing that received a lot of favourable attention throughout the All-Star weekend. Sergei Ovechkin, Alexander Ovechkin's four-year-old kid, made an appearance, and one particular former NHL player is very upset about it.
One former Hall of Famer by the name of Dominik Hasek is not having it with Sergei receiving a ton of praise and affection from fans, and has flipped the script into a very politic debate that is drawing a ton of controversy.
Because Ovechkin still supports the Russian president and stands by him during the invasion of Ukraine, this comment is generating a lot of controversy. Hasek wants the NHL to once more ban Russian athletes.
