The coaching career for Brad Larsen in Columbus did not go as planned. General manager and alternate governor Jarmo Kekalainen felt that the team needed a changed voice as Larsen's record reflected how poor it went.
The Blue Jackets could not get their game going under his leadership and Larsen held a record of 62-86-16 over 164 games.
