One thing that John Tortorella will bring with him behind the Flyers bench is accountability. We saw too many times last season players that seemed to just not care about the team.
At the end of the season, during his exit meeting with journalists, Cam Atkinson, without actually saying it, endorsed the candidacy of John Tortorella...
"We need to find a way to have some more grit, some more jam, more "F you" to our game. I think we were a pretty soft team (...) I'm just embarrassed, I guess. It's a crappy feeling. Almost a waste of a year in my mind, but I hope Chuck is going to do some things in the summer to help this team," said Atkinson.
Atkinson played the best hockey of his career under John Tortorella. He must be extremely happy to see him sign a contract with the Flyers...
