Going back and looking at some of the amazing players who have come through the Flyers organization over the past years,
Claude Giroux, Jakub Voracek,
Sean Couturier, Mike Richards, and many more, they all had one thing in common, they were unselfishly always looking for the perfect pass. They have never had the superstar like Ovechkin, or Malkin, who is always looking to score goals.
Enter Owen Tippett. Now it is still very early in his career, and he does not come with the pedigree that some of the other goal scoring superstars in the NHL have had, but Tippett has shown, he likes to shoot, and shoot a lot. In the past five games for the Flyers, Tippett has had 26 shots on net. In the game against the Jets, he had 10 shots, 11 shot attempts. You can see his confidence growing each game, as proven with his ridiculous move on his game winning goal against the Blues. He has 162 shots on goal through 44 games this season, on pace for 302 in the year, however with how his playing time and confidence has grown since the beginning of the year, that number should go up.
Can Owen Tippett be the superstar goal scorer the Flyers have been searching for so long? Only time will tell, but at 24 years old, he is only going to get better and what he has shown thus far has already been great for the Flyers.
