By now we've all heard the rumors. With Patrice Bergeron soon to be UFA and Brad Marchand and Charlie McAvoy out with long term injuries, the Boston Bruins are in for the long haul next season.

The firing of long time head coach Bruce Cassidy yesterday just solidifies it. One must wonder if the Bruins will hire a tank commander in his spot and go all out for Bedard next season.
From a fan perspective this isn't so bad but for David Pastrnak, a star in his prime, nothing besides the Stanley Cup is on his mind.

This is exactly why David Pastrnak, according to Bruins writer and insider Fluto Shinzawa, was not amused with the firing of head coach Bruce Cassidy.
Pastrnak is also not fond of how Don Sweeney and his management team handled the Torey Krug and David Krejci negotiations.
According to inside info, the Bruins would obviously love to keep Pastrnak, but if the talks don't go anywhere soon, the team will have no choice but to move him. Sweeney will not let him walk with nothing in return.
One name or trade that could possibly make sense is David Pastrnak to the New Jersey Devils for the second overall pick. This way, if the Habs take Shane Wright, the Bruins get Juraj Slafkovsky as a replacement for Pastrnak and if the Habs take Slafkovsky, they have Wright (Bergeron 2.0) or Logan Cooley who was one of the fastest players at the combine.
