There wasn't much to cheer for this season if you're a Philadelphia Flyers fan. However, things look to be finally improving after Chuck Fletcher was fired as GM.

Not to mention the Flyers will be getting a top 10 prospect in the NHL draft.

That's not all as the Flyers AHL affiliate team, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, will be heading to the playoffs. The Phantoms will face-off against the the Florida Panthers AHL affiliate team the Charlotte Checkers in the first round as they try to win the Calder Cup!

Unfortunately for their fans:

Phantoms will play Charlotte in the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs. Unfortunately, all games in the Best of 3 series will be at Charlotte.
There are geographical standards for the first round. All 3 games one location if cities are further apart.

Unfortunately, the geographical distance rules of the AHL dictate that Phantoms will not have a home game in the best of 3 against Charlotte. All 3 (potential) games will be at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, rather than 2 in Charlotte and one in Allentown.

That's a very odd rule that needs to be addressed could you imagine the NHL doing this?
