Philadelphia Flyers' Charities Make BIG Donation

The Philadelphia Flyers' Charities, are continuing their amazing work this summer.
The Flyers organization speaks highly of their charities, expressing how honoured they are to be able to help out the city of Philadelphia.
«Flyers Charities awards grants to nonprofit organizations located in the Greater Philadelphia region that align with our mission. Our current areas of giving include: Honoring our legacy of supporting local families impacted by cancer. Growing our games inclusive of new and diverse participants and audiences.»
On Tuesday, May 17. The Flyers organization teamed up with Flyers Charities and Playworks PA, to help grow the game of hockey; Stopping by Julia De Burgos Bilingual Elementary School, where Gritty, Community Relations and Executive Director Cindy Stutman, and others took time to play some ball hockey and enjoy other fun activities with the kids.

The organizations didn't stop there, Flyers Charities and Playworks also donated $85,000 in street hockey equipment and instruction into four local elementary schools. The grant was gifted earlier this year, now the program has been officially launched. Additionally, at the end of the school year all four schools get to compete in a tournament.
Tia Mathisen, Executive Director of Playworks is very excited to bring this into the four local school.
«We are here to introduce hockey to students, who may or may not experienced hockey before and learning more about that. And, reeking the benefits of what hockey brings to enhancing children's lives. Exercise and all the benefits that you get from a team sport.»
