Philadelphia Flyers Face Backlash for Today's Pride Night Offer to Fans

The Philadelphia Flyers are hosting their annual Pride Night celebrations during today's game against the Montreal Canadiens.

They plan to give away many tickets and have a meet and greet party after the game for guests from LGBTQ+ groups.
This initiative is led by the team's 'You Can Play' representative, Scott Laughton.
The team shared details about the event, highlighting their support for the LGBTQ+ community. The Wells Fargo Center will have special rainbow-themed decorations and LEDs. Fans attending can also enjoy a Love is Love cocktail and buy Flyers Pride merchandise.

For the game's start, the Flyers will welcome Speed Finney, a player from the Ed Snider Youth Hockey team, and his mom, Dr. Stacey Trooskin. The ceremonial puck drop will involve members of South Hunterdon Regional High School's Gender Sexuality Alliance.
Scott Laughton, a 'You Can Play' ambassador, is continuing his Pride initiative by inviting guests from the past three seasons. The team is giving complimentary tickets to LGBTQ+ organizations through its Community Ticket Grant program.
Despite this effort by Laughton, some fans have expressed discontent on social media underneath this post, causing controversy.
Nevertheless, the Flyers remain committed to making hockey inclusive for everyone.
