The Philadelphia Flyers, led by general manager Danny Briere, are entering their first rebuilding campaign and structuring to finish in the bottom five in order to land a high draft pick in 2024.
John Tortorella, the Flyers' current head coach, is strongly opposed to "tanking," so it will be much more difficult for the team to place in the bottom five. Tortorella appreciates winning and is expected to have a significant role in the Flyers' ability to pick up a few more victories this coming campaign.
The rankings are determined by factors such as how far each team must travel, how frequently they play back-to-back games, etc. The Flyers travel the least in the league compared to almost every other team, and this season they get several days off in between games, which is considered an advantage.
