REPORT: The identity of all the finalists for Flyers' head coaching job were revealed, and we understand more why Tortorella was hired

The Philadelphia Flyers officially named John Tortorella as their new head coach this morning. By the way, the team announced that John Tortorella and Chuck Fletcher will hold a press conference at 2PM today.

With the hiring process finally over, more details have been revealed regarding it. We already knew that Barry Trotz - who was offered an enormous contract by the Flyers - and John Tortorella were among the finalists. But according to Arthur Staple, there were two other coaches who were considered finalists too : former Golden Knight' Peter DeBoer and former Islander' Jack Capuano.

Let's be honest: the Flyers made the best choice with Tortorella. I'm pretty sure that if Capuano or DeBoer were named head coach, fans would have been absolutely fuming...
