On November 4, 2021, the Buffalo Sabres traded Jack Eichel, along with a 3rd round draft pick in 2023 (moves to 2024 if VEG pick is top-10) to the Vegas Golden Knights for a 1st round draft pick in 2022 (top-10 protected), a 2nd round draft pick in 2023 (moves to 2024 if other VEG pick is top-10), Peyton Krebs and Alex Tuch.

That was one major trade and it required some to time to complete. Eichel was frustrated that the Sabres were not moving forward with his controversial neck surgery and wanted out.
He got his wish, and the Sabres outlook towards the future has drastically changed for the good.
Tuch has gathered 19 goals, 30 assists in 62 games. Krebs has seven goals, 17 assists in 58 games.

Conversely, Eichel has 19 goals, 20 assists in 47 games. The trade seems to be even by most standards. The Sabres have gone 34-41-10 since the trade. They have earned at least a point in 44 of 85 games since the trade went down. While that may not sound overwhelmingly outstanding, the team is beginning to really play solid hockey.
Tuch and Krebs are well-liked in the Sabres organization, and both are excelling with their new team. Since Tuch actually starring playing for Buffalo, the Sabres have a respectable 29-27-6 record. Krebs is developing into a good young prospect with aspirations of better things to come.
Eichel is healthy again, and is rolling along just fine. He is receiving a fresh start in a new city and seems to be helping the Golden Knights. They have won seven in a row, and lead the Pacific division with an 11-2 record.
The Vegas team is back, and even with goalie injuries, they are running on all cylinders. The Sabres have improved to the point that some are saying they could surprise teams in the East and get near a playoff spot.
But, don't get too excited Sabres' fans, remember they have had successful beginnings to a season before only to falter as time goes by.
It may be different this year though. With Tuch tearing things up and Krebs looking to follow that path, the Buffalo management has to be smiling.
And their jerseys are really pretty awesome.
