1. #79!

He couldn't stop them all, but 48 out of 49 isn't bad. What more can you say; Carter Hart won that game for the Flyers. He was unbelievable.

2. Rocky Thompson:
How many times can you pass to a player standing still at the blue line on your power play entry, have the play broken up within 2 seconds, and continue to repeat the same mistake repeatedly without making an adjustment?!
Thankfully the Flyers won a draw on their second man advantage and didn't have to worry about a blowing up a zone entry.
A simple bang-bang play on the power play from Sanheim to Laughton, something the Flyers could utilize more often.
The Flyers went 1 for 5 on the PP and need to get back to the drawing board. Quicker puck movement, less telegraphing of passes, and players cycling positions to confuse coverage would be a good start.
2. Early Goal Surrendered:
Jack Hughes caught Ivan Provorov flat footed on the power play and Sanheim conceded the shot to Hughes, who beat Hart off the post and in.
The notorious slow starts this season have been costly, but thanks to Hart, this early goal against didn't come back to bite them.
3. Three And A Half More Years:
Chuck Fletcher made a big splash locking up 31 year old Nicolas Deslauriers to a four year, $1.75 million dollar contract with a modified no movement clause in the off season.

Deslauriers obviously wasn't brought in for his offensive wizardry, but it seems every time he touches the puck it's an instant turnover. Between his soft flicks out of the zone to the opposition D and his dump ins that don't get retrieved, are his 4 hits per game and one fight every 5 games worthy of the contract and term?! I know his roll, I know where his value lies, but it doesn't make it any less painful to see him with the puck.
Of course, what Deslauriers lacks in offense he compensates for with the fisticuffs. Deslauriers got into his best fight of the year against Michael McLeod.
4. TK!
Where would the Flyers be without Travis Konecny? Konecny was responsible for drawing the penalty that led to Laughton's snipe on the power play, drew another call shortly after, and then capitalized on a breakaway on his bread and butter shot; low blocker.
Noah Cates made a great play on the D to D pass by the Devils to tip the puck off course. Konecny was up high in the zone and pounced on miscue. It's not a common occurrence for the Flyers to press up that high on the D, but the forwards made an excellent read on the play.

Konecny finished the night with 1 goal on 6 shots in 22:33 of ice time.
While Konecny was buzzing, his linemate, Kevin Hayes found himself with a prime time seat to watch the game in the second half; logging 9:47 and enduring his second benching of the season. Hayes had multiple turnovers, took the lazy penalty on the opening goal, and didn't look like he had any urgency in his game. Look for the veteran to bounce back against his former team.
5. The Flyers Multi Tool:
Scott Laughton scored on the power play, killed penalties, won huge face offs, blocked shots, and played key minutes down the stretch. Laughton was awarded the player of the game by his peers once again.

The Flyers will take on another division rival on Saturday, as Carter Hart and the Flyers take on Igor Shesterkin and the Rangers.
