The salary cap is not in the Ottawa Senators' favour with only $3 million remaining to utilize, and they still need to decide what to do with Alex DeBrincat. The Ottawa Senators are not particularly good this season. Well, this has now created a new issue. And they are already without goaltender Cam Talbot, they will now be without an NHL goalie, and have two AHL goaltenders in net.

Due to MCL sprains in both knees, Senators goaltender Anton Forsberg has been given a"probable" timeline of one year, says the Senators GM.
Pierre Dorion announces that Forsberg has ligament tears in both knees, indefinite absence but «probably season over». Sanderson upper body, out 10 days to two weeks.

One sprain is challenging, but it's awful and very difficult to do two in the same play. In yesterday night's game against the Edmonton Oilers, he was carried out on a stretcher. Thirty-year-old Anton was selected in the seventh round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Forsberg has a solid 3.26 GAA and.902 SV% this year for a backup goaltender. He still has three years left on his $2,750,000 contract, and it may come as a surprise, but he may be bought out this year before March 3rds trade deadline to free up long-term injury reserve cap space as the Senators have many players/goaltender already on it.

Prayers for a speedy recovery!
