Simmonds and Pezzetta drop the mits
During a game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens on April 8th, former Flyers player Wayne Simmonds engaged in a heated fight with Michael Pezzetta of the Canadiens during the first period. Simmonds wasted no time in throwing multiple haymakers, landing several powerful punches before ultimately taking Pezzetta down to the ice.
While fights are becoming less common in the NHL, Simmonds' experience as a fighter and physicality make him a formidable opponent in any altercation. The scuffle fired up both teams and the crowd, and ultimately the Leafs emerged victorious with a 7-1 win over the Canadiens.
