Exciting news for Columbus fans as the team continues to make impressive additions. The announcement of Mike Babcock as the new coach is just the beginning of their efforts to boost marketability.

In fact, Jarmo made a bold move today with a 3-way trade that included Ivan Provorov from the Philadelphia Flyers, who will now join the Blue Jackets via Los Angeles.
To acquire Provorov, Kevin Connauton was sent to Los Angeles, who was acquired from Philadelphia for a 2023 1st round pick (previously acquired by Los Angeles earlier in the season). Los Angeles will retain 30% of Provorov's salary.

The trade also involved Hayden Hodgson and a 1st round pick going to Los Angeles, while Philadelphia received a conditional 2nd round pick in 2024 or 2025, Cal Petersen, and Helge Grans.
With these moves, Columbus is clearly focused on improving their blueline and undergoing a quick re-tool.
The addition of Babcock and Provorov is sure to enhance the team's performance and image possibly not for the better either, as Babcock and Provorov have a history of controversy surrounding them.
