After finishing the season 25-46-11, last in the metropolitan division, signs are pointing towards a better future for this organization.

Not only did the Flyers secure the fifth pick in the 2022 Draft, they will also be getting many core players back. With a brand new coach, a full training camp and an influx of high-end youth talent to pair with the veterans, this team can't possibly be worse next year.
"Let's be honest, for a large stretch, this team literally didn't have one of its starting centers! NOT ONE. They still didn't get a top 3 pick and they iced 3 AHL defenseman every night.:

Anthony DiGrazio, who runs @phillyisflyer on twitter is optimistic about next year. And heck, even if we're worse, it'll be Bedard season.
"And as you learned by watching this lottery, you don't tank for anyone because you don't know what's going to happen. If you happen to suck and get a decent pick, that's different."

However, tanking has proven to not be a viable resource anymore. Every one of the bottom eleven teams will have a shot at the first overall pick next year. A draft with not one but three generational talents.
The Flyers have their first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh round picks this year and nine picks in 2023.
Connor Bedard, Matvei Michkov and Adam Fantilli are just three names to look out for next year.
For now, let's be happy and grateful that a new star will be dawning the Flyers jersey soon.
