Often, a fan base will console themselves after a bad year with the promise of a very good selection at the draft.
Everybody is looking for THE big player who can change the face of a franchise. And he's not necessarily drafted in the Top 3...
This year, the Flyers will have another opportunity - after the one in the 2017 Draft - to pick in the Top 3. The Flyers have today 6.7% to win the lottery and select first in July. However, the next draft is not filled with generational talent.

We can take the example of Shane Wright : he's going to be a very good player. But he's not in the same category as Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews or Connor Bédard (next year).
Imagine if the Flyers succeed to win some spot, draft 2nd or 3rd and relive the same story they did when drafting Nolan Patrick ? The 2022 and 2017 drafts are very similar...
According to multiple experts, this year's draft is average, but strong on centers and defensemen. So, there's your good news, considering the fact that there's a need at the centre position.
We shall see where the Flyers are going to pick, but some names are more interesting than others. Morgan Geekie, Brad Lambert or Logan Cooley could be three good options for the club. Again, it depends on the draft spot that the Flyers are going to have...
