It was June 11, 2018 and in Dallas Texas, the Philadelphia Flyers made an error they may end up regretting many seasons to come.

The 2018 NHL entry draft was held in Dallas that year and the Buffalo Sabres had the 1st overall pick. They used it to select generational Swedish talent, Rasmus Dalin.
With the 14th pick the Flyers selected Joel Farabee, a future NHLer and decent second line player. However, with their second second first round of the draft, Ron Hextall missed out on who many believe to be a top defenceman for years to come, K'Andre Miller.
"To this day, I will never understand how the Flyers were staring down K'Andre Miller with their second first round pick in 2018 and were just like, nah, we're good"

Miller went 22nd overall to the New York Rangers while at 19, the Flyers took Jay O'Brien.
Miller 6'4, 207 lbs, is a hard hitting mobile left handed defenceman, a player whom if the Flyers had drafted wouldn't have needed to draft Cam York. This season, Miller had 7 goals and 13 assists for 20 points, playing all 82 of the Rangers' games. The team finished second in the metro with 110 points while Miller featured mainly in the top 4, suiting up beside Jacob Trouba.
If this management had any foresight to begin with, we would have had a huge rock on defence for seasons to come by now. They could have also had Cole Caufield at 14, passing him up for Cam York. As a rookie he had 23 goals and 20 assists in 67 NHL games played.
Cam York, Cole Caufield, Trevor Zegras, Matthew Boldy and Jack Hughes were all a part of the USNDP and the team which won the World Junior Gold.
