Anyone who follows Canadian junior hockey knows that the London Knights are cream of the crop in junior hockey. All the best young prospects want to come to London, as it's been called a "NHL making factory."
When they see talent they want Dale and Mark Hunter will do anything to get it. So it was a match made in heaven when a highly touted 16 year-old prospect believed to be a future NHL first rounder decided to not report to his junior team after being drafted.
That's indeed the case for 16 year-old Niagara Ice Dogs Prospect defenceman
Sam Dickinson.
Dickinson refused to report to training camp, presumably due to the state of the organization and reports say Dickinson was wanting to already play for The London Knights because of their championship pedigree.

So Today the deal was done. The London Knights get what they believe is their next franchise defenceman in hopes of another Memorial Cup. In return the Knights trade away a boat load of draft picks.
Niagara receives a 5th overall pick in 2023 plus three 2nd rounders, three 3rd rounders, and a 5th round pick. Solid haul, all things considered.
London finished 3rd in the OHL's western conference in '21-22, and they just added a stud left-shot defenseman, who will have a strong impact right away. Dickinson scored 39 points in 46 games for the Toronto Marlboros midget hockey club.
