After an IIHF ruling, the Philadelphia Flyers contract with goalie Ivan Fedotov was ruled valid, which means that the news about the goalie is continuing to develop.

In spite of this, the goaltender and CSKA Moscow believed that this was not the case, as Fedotov continues to play and remain in Russia, regardless of the IIHF's judgment.

Fedotov has been given a chance to come over to play for the Flyers in America due to the IIHF ruling. Recently, however, with problems between the KHL and NHL in the news, the NHL's commission Bill Daly issued a statement on the current state of cooperation between the two leagues.
The NHL will continue to respect the current contracts of KHL players.

NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly announced this .

"We intend to continue our policy and practice of complying with the terms of existing and mandatory contracts in the KHL," Daly said.
In spite of the fact that the NHL cut off communication with the KHL during the conflict in Ukraine and suspended the Memorandum of Understanding, Daly has now backed down and said that they will honor the KHL contracts.
In all honesty, it is unclear whether this is a gesture of good faith on the part of the Flyers, the NHL, and the KHL, but maybe it is the beginning of the rebuilding of ties between the three parties.
Fedotov recently played in CSKA Moscow's KHL opener in his first home game since April 30th, 2022.
«The CSKA team applied for the match and included Ivan Fedotov in the list to participate in the match,» KHL president Alexei Morozov said.

«The KHL accepted the application, the application went through the CIB database, so he will take part in the match. The KHL and the club do not agree with the IIHF decision, which infringes on the constitutional right of a citizen of the Russian Federation to work.

«The General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation came out in defense of the player and sent a warning to the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, the club and the League about the inadmissibility of violating the right to work and ordered Fedotov to be allowed to participate in the competition.»

It has been announced that the KHL and CSKA Moscow are going to defy the IIHF ruling until a new agreement is reached and Russia once again has a seat at the table in the league.
