During NHL draft week, the Philadelphia Flyers aimed to trade defenseman Tony DeAngelo back to the Carolina Hurricanes but faced a hurdle due to a CBA ruling by the National Hockey League.
The ruling prevents teams from re-acquiring a player within 12 months of their trade, especially with retained salary.
However, on July 9th, the trade is expected to be made official, revealing the return for the Flyers who retained 50% of DeAngelo's cap hit.
Reports suggest the Flyers will acquire University of Denver centerman Massimo Rizzo, a 22-year-old was drafted by the Hurricanes in 2019.
