These two players could be great targets for the Philadelphia Flyers

Yes, Chuck Fletcher only got 5.4M$ to work with this summer, but you have to think that he'll make some space to acquire some players and improve his team. There's two players that could very well be excellent pickups for Fletcher this summer : Valeri Nichuskin and Ian Cole.

In the case of the former, he never became the offensive superstar that some would have thought, but he's still a good top-6 player. He excels in both zones and still succeed to put some points on the board - he registered 52 points this season, and is set to become a UFA this summer.

He will absolutely ask for a big salary upgrade (he signed a 2-year deal at 5M$ with the Avs in 2020), but if the Avalanche doesn't find a way to sign him, Fletcher should at least call Nichuskin's agent. Nichuskin is a big and fast forward, which is a need for the Flyers.

In the case of Ian Cole, he'll be a big upgrade on the Flyers 3rd pair. For the moment, they have Nick Seeler and maybe Cam York (if he's not given a bigger role). Pairing Cole and York could be great - yes they are both left-handed but York can play on the right side. He will not cost a lot (around 2M$) so Fletcher should clearly be interested by him.
