Speculation is brewing around the potential movement of Travis Sanheim from the Philadelphia Flyers before his full no-trade clause (NTC) takes effect on July 1st.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli raises the question of whether a team would be willing to sign Sanheim to his 8-year, $6.25 million average annual value (AAV) contract if he were to hit the free agent market.
As the free agent pool appears thin, the answer could be yes, especially considering the projected growth of the salary cap. Seravalli suggests that the Flyers might find value in not having Sanheim's contract on their books at all.
On Seravalli's trade board, several Flyers players dominate the rankings. Kevin Hayes occupies the third spot, followed by Travis Konecny at number ten, Scott Laughton at number twelve, Tony DeAngelo at number eighteen, Carter Hart at number twenty-four, and Travis Sanheim at number thirty-six.
As the offseason progresses, it remains to be seen whether Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher will entertain the possibility of moving Sanheim or any other players on the trade market.
