With the Flyers not really in a position to contend, it would be smart for them to trade guys with some solid value in the trade market.
Well, according to NHL Trade Rumors, it seems that Cam Atkinson can fit that mold. Atkinson has been dealing with an injury and hasn't played yet this year, but he has shown he can play at a high level in the NHL.
The 33 year-old has 452 points in 700 career games following last year's performance in which he had 50 points in 73 games with Philly.
It would be difficult for a team to take a shot on Atkinson right now, but if he plays some games and shows high upside for a veteran, then there should be teams who are intrigued by his skillset.
Expect teams looking for depth like the Leafs, Wild, Oilers, and Bruins to be in play for the veteran forward.
