New Jersey Devil, Tomas Tatar, has been fined $5,000 (the maximum allowable under the CBA), for high-sticking Hurricanes Sebastian Aho, in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

This was a quick play, as Tatar was checked by Aho which resulted in Tatar, swinging his stick around quickly and hitting Aho in the head. Tomas Tatar was given a two-minute penalty on the original play, which was later reviewed by NHL Player Safety, and it was rewarded a fine.
The incident occurred at 12:20 of the first period. The money will go to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
Sebastian Aho, was slow to get up. After receiving the blow to the back of the head. The Hurricanes players were quick to his add though, jumping on Tomas Tatar, as some unkind words were probably shared.
Tomas Tatar is lucky this is only a fine, as it was clearly intent to injure as it was out of anger. Easily could have been suspended.
