His journey has been quite interesting, having played for three different teams in the past three seasons. He was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2014 entry draft, being selected 19th overall in the first round.
During his time in Tampa, he exclusively played for the Syracuse Crunch, which was Tampa Bay's affiliate team at the time.
In 2016, he was traded to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for the 37th overall pick. Subsequently, he was traded to the New York Rangers, where he was part of the deal involving Derek Stepan and Antti Raanta. Following his tenure with the Rangers, he spent one year with the Hurricanes before joining the Flyers.
The recurring pattern seems to be short stays with the teams he signs with. This year, the Flyers decided to buy him out, marking the second time in his career he's been let go in this manner. However, the Hurricanes chose to retain him once more, and it appears from the picture below that he is savouring his second stint with the Hurricanes.
Throughout his career, DeAngelo has played in 340 games, scoring 45 goals and providing 154 assists for a total of 199 points, all while accumulating 305 penalty minutes. The Hurricanes seem to be going all-in this year, with hopes of making a deep playoff run and potentially contending for the Stanley Cup once again. It remains to be seen how DeAngelo will fare under the coaching of Rob Brind'Amour once more.
