It always makes me smile when NHL players reveal their true nature and big hearts by giving back to the community. Numerous players throughout the league have special causes, including Mitch Marner with the SickKids Foundation, McDavid pledging for the Ben Stelzer Fund, and many more.

Former Flyers defenseman Tony D'Angelo, who was bought out by the team and then signed a new deal with the Carolina Hurricanes, presented a check for sponsoring the «Tony D's Saves the Game» initiative.
For every save the Roughriders made, he donated $1.00 to the cause, which went to the Saint Luke's Centre for Women's and Children's Health in Cedar Rapids, IA. D'Angelo spent one season with the team in 2010-2011.
During his time with the USHL team, he played 28 games, scored one goal with 14 assists for 15 points, and had 19 penalty minutes.
It's always important for these players to give back to the community to show their support and continue to build outreach. It's a great gesture by DeAngelo.
