Flyers head coach John Tortorella has repeatedly been upfront and clear about how he feels the Flyers be built, and how the game of hockey should be played. He is the head coach who believes in defence first and that the offence will come along with it.

During the final press conference of the season on locker clean-out day, torts gave his vision that he feels that players that will belong with the Flyers need to be believers and buy into the system.
The 64-year-old head coach has had an illustrious career with five NHL organizations. He holds two Jack Adams trophies and has won a Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Numerous young Flyers have bought into his system, including Noah Cates, Cam York and Travis Travis Konency. The good news about the Flyers is they do have pieces they can build around between the parent club and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Players like Cutter Gauthier and Tyson Foerster will be prominent players shortly with the Flyers.
It seems that Torts will be entering an expanded role even though he'll be the head coach of the team and seems that he will have a bigger say in who the players will be chosen as they mould the lineup into their vision.
I did believe at some point that Torts may have an interest in becoming the president of the team however it seems that he has more of a desire to remain as a coach.
