After the Flyers' dominant 4-1 win in Vancouver, the club not only was able to keep pace in the Metro Division standings, but head coach John Tortorella earned his 723rd win as a head coach, moving into tenth all-time in wins among coaches.
Per usual John Tortorella was humbled and not focused on his achievements and was just thrilled the team was able to get a hard fought win in Vancouver.
"I don't even think about that stuff. I'm just thankful that people trusted me and let me work with them in this league for so long. It's been my life and I appreciate people having the faith in me to let me work with them. I don't give a s---t about the number. I just like coaching, I like being around the players and I really appreciate and am humbled by the opportunities I have been given."
Not only did Tortorella move into tenth all-time in wins, but he also coached his 1500th NHL game, becoming the first American born coach to reach that feat and 8th coach overall to see that number. Coach Torts is 723-590-149 overall in 22 NHL seasons.
