Tortorella offers interesting quote after benching defenseman

Thursday night not only saw the Flyers drop their fourth game in a row as they were shutout by the Detroit Red Wings, but it saw a healthy scratch for a defenseman who is working to save his career. After the game, head coach John Tortorella offered an interesting quote regarding the situation.
Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen was a healthy scratch in the Flyers loss on Thursday night. Ristolainen has seen his time on ice drop each game and ultimately saw a benching on Thursday night.
John Tortorella had this to say regarding his struggling defenseman.
"I just didn't like Risto's game as of late here, and I wanted to get D-Lo back into the lineup."

Not an unusual quote from Torts who is normally short in responses after losses, but it was an eye-opening decision as Ristolainen has been seeing somewhat of a career resurgence this season.
Coming into the league at 18 with an organization in Buffalo who constantly went through coaches, Ristolainen never had that coaching stability. This season Ristolainen has shown that with that stability and leadership, he can really strive.
Hopefully this was just a reset for Ristolainen and he can get back to his way after the All-Star break.
