It was explained over the summer that Gauthier would return to college and continue his development there. He had a successful off-season in both the World Hockey Championships and the World Junior Championships.
During the U20 World Juniors, he tallied four goals and six assists for ten points in seven games.
As one of the best players for the Eagles, he must consider the timeline for his next appearance for the Flyers.
The team would not see him until March 12th if he decides to come to the NHL after his sophomore year.
Say Cutter Gauthier did plan on coming to the NHL after his Sophomore year. Flyers fans wouldn't see him until as early as March 12.
However, if Boston College makes it into the Frozen Four it's more likely we don't see him at all or not late March.
It's more likely we see him at training camp and at the beginning of next season.

If Boston College makes the Frozen Four, it might be unlikely that the team would see him until March, more likely training camp next year.
Cutter Gauthier scored 16 goals and 31 assists in 32 games with the Boston College Eagles during the 2022-2023 season
We should consider the benefit of letting Cutter cook further.
