Western Conference Team's Star Player Out Indefinitely Following Surgery: Possibly Career Ending?
The Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone underwent his second successful back surgery in less than a year and is out indefinitely, the team announced Wednesday.
Stone hasn't played a game since suffering the injury on January 12th against the Florida Panthers, during his rehabilitation he experienced a setback and was determined that surgery was the best course of action. He is set to make a full recovery.
This isn't great new for Vegas fans cause they have only won one of eight games played without Stone this year. Stone ranks second on Vegas in points (43) and goals (17) while averaging 19:23 of ice time per contest.

The Vegas Golden Knights missed the playoffs last year for the first time since entering the league and got off to a hot start to the year but have gotten into a slump going just 2-6-2 in their last 10, and losing Stone for the rest of the year is gonna hurt them big time.
With Stone being out for the rest of the year expect Vegas to be active before the March 3rd trade deadline to try and help the team make a push to get into the playoffs again.
You have to wonder, this is Stone's third recent surgery, will he consider retirement before his health issues decide to pile up?
