There seems to be little doubt that the 2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs will be participating in the postseason. The largest doubt will be can they win a playoff series for the first time since 2004?

With such an explosive offensive juggernaut, we all know that the first line will consist of Michael Bunting, Auston Matthews, and Mitch Marner. Beyond that, what will the second line be like for the Maple Leafs?
We all know that captain John Tavares will need two linemates. The choices consist of William Nylander, Nicholas Robertson, Pierre Engvall, Alexander Kerfoot, and newly signed free agent Calle Jarnkrok.
Kerfoot and Nylander seem to be the favorites at this point, and for good reason.

This trio was responsible for about 53 percent of the goal share of the team. With that firepower, it seems a no-brainer for the Tavares, Kerfoot, Nylander line to continue their performance for the new season.
Making the playoffs, and MOVING PAST the first round will be of paramount importance for the Leafs going forward.
Another early exit from the postseason may not look promising for GM Kyle Dubas to continue in his role for much longer.
The odds for the teams to make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference are led by the Toronto club with a -1000. Tampa Bay is -700, along with Carolina, and Florida. After that Pittsburgh comes in at -400, then the New York Rangers with -260. The final three teams are: Boston and the New York Islanders at -156, and Washington at -134.
The race for the playoffs and beyond will begin on October 13th when the new 2022-23 season commences.
IT'S FINALLY TIME FOR HOCKEY!!
