According to Danny Briere, the Philadelphia Flyers are currently in a rebuilding phase, focused on establishing a winning standard each year.

Together with John Tortorella, Keith Jones, and Patrick Sharp, they are reshaping the team to align with their vision.
One promising player who fits into this vision is defenseman Cam York, who has been tendered a qualifying offer as a restricted free agent.
It appears that York may receive a bridge deal, with a reasonable average annual value of $5 million over a three-year period.

Alternatively, Briere may opt for a long-term contract of eight years, with an average annual value of $8 million, front-loaded to allow for growth over time.
Another possibility is to bridge York now and offer him a higher salary in his final year as an RFA, as a reward for his development and hard work.
Regardless of the approach, York will be an integral part of the Flyers' new direction towards a winning culture, and one of the team's new faces.
