With Claude Giroux moving on from the Philadelphia Flyers, the organization is still without a captain.

Even though John Tortorella, said the team would go without a captain again next season, it doesn't cancel out the idea entirely. As the organization will eventually have to fill the position.
The Flyers may wait for a bit, maybe later into the 2023-24 season but they also might name a more short-term one for a year or two.
Who knows, maybe the captain isn't even a Flyer yet.
With that in mind, here are some possible candidates for the Flyers fans and organization to think about:

Years with the team: 10
519 GP, 82 G, 117 A, 199 Pts
The obvious choice would have to be Scott Laughton, he has been with the Flyers organization his whole career and has never wavered. A tremendous leader on and off the ice, the only one with an «A» on his sweater this year as well. Philadelphia loves Laughton, especially with the grit he continues to show every game. Laughton is the leader of this team. On ice he works harder than anyone. Off ice he's a true leader that would do anything for his team. He connects to the fans, does charity work with the team, and Kevin Hayes called him one of the funniest people he knows.

Years with the team: 2
98 GP, 18 G, 29 A, 47 Pts
Maybe a surprising nominee, due to the fact that he has only been with the team for 2 years, but Noah Cates has proven time and time again that he can play in the NHL. Not only is Cates young, but he plays and acts like a veteran on and off the ice. John Tortorella has spoken very highly of Noah Cates, and looks like a dark horse candidate.
Cam Atkinson
Years with the team: 1
73 GP, 23 G, 27 A, 50 Pts
When Cam Atkinson returns to the lineup, even though since being acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets just last summer, he hasn't even played a full season with the Flyers. But that doesn't mean he isn't worth considering. Atkinson, at age 32, is one of the oldest players on the Flyers' roster, though he certainly doesn't look like it, he still has three years remaining on his contract. He is a strong advocate around the city of Philadelphia, and shouldn't be overlooked when deciding who to name captain.
Years with the team: 2
98 GP, 31 G, 25 A, 56 Pts
Another surprising pick is Owen Tippett. Who has become a huge fan favourite, after playing his first full year in the orange and black. In that year Tippett, had a career year with 49 points, which destroyed his previous best of 18 points, bringing up the possibility of earning a letter on his sweater. The right winger looks to continue his progress and next season, as he gets even more comfortable with his teammates. Owen Tippett, is one of the players we could see get a letter towards the end of next season, maybe even get put into an assistant captain role.
