The Colorado Avalanche are finally in the Stanley Cup Finals. The job is not done, but they are extremely close to lift Lord Stanley.
They come from afar. Let's remember that 5 years ago, the Avalanche finished dead last in the NHL with only 22 wins. However, they drafted well and GM Joe Sakic made some excellent trades to surround his young stars in Nathan Mackinnon and Mikko Rantanen.
Asked about it, Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog said that he would be lying by saying that he thought back in 2016-17 that he will be playing in the Stanley Cup Finals 5 years later.
This story should be a reminder to Flyers fans that better days are ahead. But the management must start to make the necessary moves in order for the organization to come back in the playoffs, and one day, win the Stanley Cup.
