Young Hockey Prodigy Tragically Passes Away at The Age of 18
In the tightly-knit hockey community, difficult circumstances can strike unexpectedly. Today, the Waterloo Siskins of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League shared heartbreaking news on Twitter, announcing the passing of 18-year-old defenseman Tyson Downs, a native of Owen Sound.
Downs played one season for the Siskins, impressively tallying six goals and seventeen assists in forty-five games.
Losing anyone is devastating, but the passing of someone so young is especially difficult to grasp.
Our deepest condolences go out to Downs' family, friends, teammates, and all those affected by this tragic loss.
