Big Z Zdeno Chara has had a amazing career in the NHL, Chara has been on the fence about either playing one more year or hanging his skates up and retiring.

It appears Chara wants to continue his career and who's gonna stop the giant? Even at 45 years old Chara can still go, many believed Chara would re-sign with the New York Islanders where Chara played last season but that won't be the case as Islanders General Manager Lou Lamoriello announced on Monday that there is no option for the seasoned defenseman to return, making Zdeno Chara the oldest free agent left on the market.

Chara could possibly end up back where he's spent most of his career as a member of the Boston Bruins with Bruins General Manager Don Sweeny trying to rebuild the roster that made it to the 2019 Stanley cup final, resigning Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron and bring back David Krejč to the NHL.

However, the Philadelphia Flyers General Manager Chuck Fletcher should maybe think of bringing the big man to Philly. Chara is a such a good leader he could help mentor the Flyers young players like Cam York. Chara is only seeking a one year $1,000,000 million dollar deal so it's not a huge commitment and could definitely fill a spot in the Flyers roster and bring some toughness something Flyers new head coach John Tortorella loves.

Chara has played in 24 seasons and 1,880 career games between the New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins, Washington Capitals. Chara has also scored 209 goals and 680 points winning one Stanley Cup as the Bruins Captain, back in 2011 over the Vancouver Canucks.
