"The Montreal Canadiens handed out a beating to the Philadelphia Flyers 5-0 on Friday afternoon. It was total domination by the Canadiens as interim head coach Kirk Muller walked away with his first playoff victory. Near the end of the game with the win pretty much guaranteed for the Canadiens, Muller rolled his top power play unit out and after the game Flyers' head coach Alain Vigneault wasn't too impressed with Muller's decision. He called the Habs' interim head coach out and said Muller was trying to embarrass them. ""We had embarassed ourselves enough. I'm not sure we needed to be embarassed more.""
He added that he'd make sure to get that point across to his players. Muller however said he was just trying to get a struggling power play going. "I have great respect for them. I would never disrespect them."
With the series tied 1-1, it sounds like it's going to get really intense and physical the rest of the way.
Alain Vigneault didn't like that Kirk Muller put his No. 1 power play on the ice late in the game: ""We had embarassed ourselves enough. I'm not sure we needed to be embarassed more.""
Adds that he'll be sure to point that out to his players.
