"The Philadelphia Flyers are looking like they'll miss out on the playoffs and that means they'll open it up. We saw them let Wade Allison get some time in and now they'll be doing the same. Forward Nolan Patrick will be a healthy scratch tonight so that another young forward can make his debut. Head coach Alain Vigneault confirmed that Jackson Cates will make his NHL debut tonight against the New York Rangers. He'll center the fourth line between Oskar Lindblom and Nicolas Aube Kubel. Alex Lyon will get the start with Brian Elliott taking on the backup role with Carter Hart still injured. AV also confirmed there won't be any defensive changes so Samuel Morin will watch the game from the press box with Patrick.
