Thursday morning came with unfortunate news for a young Flyers forward as the team demoted him back to Lehigh Valley, just a month after being called up as fan-favorite Bobby Brink was demoted. Despite being demoted, many fans and analysts feel this forward did not receive enough opportunities to prove he belonged in the Flyers lineup.

24-year-old right wing Olle Lycksell was sent back down to Lehigh Valley on Thursday morning, just after he was called up on Jan. 22 in exchange for Bobby Brink and as a result of the ongoing Carter Hart situation.
Lycksell will have plenty of time and opportunties in Lehigh Valley to prove himself and further develop with the Phantoms and could eventually be recalled at some point again this season if injuries or trades occur.
However, many fans and analysts were unhappy with the playing time and opportunities Lycksell received during his stint with the Flyers. Lycksell was a healthy scratch most of the time and when he was dressed, he almost never saw the ice.
Whether it was inexperience or inability to earn the trust of head coach Joh Tortorella, Lycksell was ultimately demoted back down to Lehigh Valley.
