"It was a bit of a tough season for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The Philadelphia Flyers dealt with some injury problems which led to a lot of call ups leaving the Phantoms. The Flyers also experimented with their fourth line center role throughout the year which meant calling up various Phantoms players almost on a weekly basis. It showed in the standings as the Phantoms sat second to last in their division and didn't really have any shot at making the playoffs before the season was paused. Now it's officially done. The AHL officially canceled their season on Monday morning because of the coronavirus. ""The AHL Board of Governors has voted to cancel the remainder of the 2019-20 AHL regular season and the 2020 Calder Cup Playoffs due to the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis.""

This will likely help the NHL and their chances of continuing the season as it will make more players available to finish the 2019-20 season.
