"The Philadelphia Flyers were hoping an NHL ruling would finally punish an opposing team for a cheap shot on one of their players. It finally did. The NHL decided to suspend Kurtis MacDermid two games for his check to the head on Flyers' defenseman Ivan Provorov. What makes it an even more interesting decision is the fact that there was actually no penalty called on the play. You can check out the hit again below, what do you think of the NHL's ruling?
Friendly reminder: Kurtis MacDermid AND Corey Perry will both have hearings today with @NHLPlayerSafety for an illegal check to the head and elbowing respectively. Likely MacDermid gets 1-2 games, while Perry gets 3-4. Both phone hearings and cannot be five games or more pic.twitter.com/RyTwHV9CMC
