Canadian teams interest of Flyers defenseman peaking

The Philadelphia Flyers and their fans are beginning to fasten their seatbelts as the team is just one week away from the March 8 trade deadline. As about four prominent Flyers names are drawing interest from around the league, one Eastern Conference Canadian team is continuing to show a strong interest in a certain Flyers defenseman. If they can meet Danny Briere's price, it will be interesting to see if Briere is reluctant to make a deal.
Flyers defensemen Nick Seeler has become quite the fan favorite this season, making himself known by delivering big hits and dropping the gloves on frequent occasions and with his veteran presence in the locker room. As the Flyers are moving into the next phase of the rebuild, many contenders are taking notice of the veteran defenseman and see that he would be a good fit come playoff time for a number of teams.
One team showing a strong interest is the Toronto Maple Leafs. After the Maple Leafs made a trade for defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin from the Anaheim Ducks, prominent NHL reporter Darren Dreger believes the Leafs still are not content with their current roster and will be extremely active during the next week.
With the Maple Leafs being one of the hottest teams in the NHL with a 12-3 record in their past 15 games, Seeler would definitely be a solid addition and bring a toughness to the team that could be extremely valuable come Playoff time. The Leafs are playing their best hockey right now and are looking like a legitimate Eastern Conference threat this postseason.
Although the Flyers asking price hasn't officially been released, it is believed that Briere is liking at least a first round pick for Seeler. If Briere finds a deal he can't refuse, will he be quick to deal the veteran defenseman?
